On that note, here is a fun food fact that caught our attention!

Did you know?

History shows us how important chocolate was in the 1900s. A study by the Economic Anthropology journal found that the ancient Mayan civilization used chocolate—specifically cacao beans—as currency.

A tribe called the Aztecs traded with the Mayans for cacao beans—the importance of these beans arose from their belief that apparently, they were the gift of Quetzalcoatl, the God of wisdom. They were used as barter currency for all sorts of things including food, clothes, taxes, and tributes.
